Uplift Response of Horizontal Strip Anchor Plates in Cohesionless Soil

Anchor plates may be made of steel plates, precast concrete slabs, poured concrete slabs, timber sheets and so forth. In this study, uplift resistance of strip anchor plates embedded in cohesion less soils was assessed by conducting previous works. The previous experimental works mentioned that behavior of horizontal strip anchor plates embedded in cohesion less soil has been assessed by small-scale model and field tests from last sixty years until now. The research paper is reviewed previous experimental studies of horizontal strip anchor plates in cohesion less soil. These anchors can be installed by excavating the ground to the required depth and then backfilling and compacting with good quality cohesion less soils. The strip anchor plates are used in some applications including seawalls, retaining walls, transmission towers, foundations, pipe lines and etc. The previous results mentioned that horizontal strip anchor plates significantly increases the stiffness of the cohesion less soils.
